Grade 5 ABRSM Theory from scratch…

Most students, and their parents and teachers too, put off learning Music Theory until they hit that point where they can put it off no further, when they need Grade 5 Theory to be allowed to enter for Grade 6 or above on an instrument. For such students, the learning of theory is a chore. The following videos and resources are offered in the hope of making it less like a chore! Start with Lesson 1 (and ideally Lessons 2 and 3) to get a grip on all the Italian terms and signs before going to the different units.

Lessons 1-3 cover the first part of Unit 6 - Terms, Signs and Instruments, and is the best place to start. Once you’ve started, you can visit the other units by clicking on the buttons and follow those lessons in order.
